 AN EVENT SPACE READY FOR ANYTHING 

 

 Empire Hall is a customizable event space in the heart of the Cherokee Arts District. 

 

Holding 120-200 guests for a sit-down event (depending on dance floor size and band or DJ specifications) or 300 people for a cocktail party, this 3600 square foot venue is ideal for anything. 

 

Empire Hall features loft space – available to be used as a VIP area, bridal salon or DJ booth – as well as a beautiful custom-built double bar and a catering garage with prepping tables for service. Although we do not require a caterer for events, we are happy to provide catering recommendations if needed. We may also be able to provide a rental parking lot if our adequate street parking is not sufficient for your needs. Empire Hall is your one stop destination for it all.

 

 

 Empire Hall has been building a rich history since 1894. 

 

Empire Hall was designed by August Foell and built in 1894. for Henry W. Heuermann, who used the space for his dry goods store for several years. In 1908, while Heuermann remodeled the southern part of his store for playing moving pictures, he briefly ran The Empire Billiard Hall – our beloved venue’s namesake – out of the building’s basement.

 

The commercial first floor was divided into two spaces until 1943, when Arthur Hess redeveloped the entire ground level for Hess Hardware, which operated for over 30 years in the space. This large combined ground floor is complemented by the storefront’s strong columns (selected by Foell) which allow natural light to pour into the space through the building’s large display windows.

All reservations also require a $350 damage deposit and $150 site fee.

FOOD + DRINKS

  Outside caterers are welcome at Empire Hall! 

 

Although Empire Hall welcomes all outside caterers, we are frequently asked to provide local catering recommendations. Keeping quality and excellent service in mind, we have compiled a list of our preferred vendors below along with their contact information and sample food and beverage menus. Please note that we require a valid Missouri liquor license for all outside alcoholic beverages.
